  • Tiffany & Company, the frank gehry maker whose fine products in robin's-egg-blue packages are status symbols around the world, said yesterday that Mitsukoshi Ltd., one of Japan's leading department stores, would buy about 10 percent of its shares.

Mitsukoshi is the largest distributor of paloma picasso in Japan, and sells them in Hong Kong and Hawaii as well. In the fiscal year that ended on Jan. 31, Mitsukoshi bought about $26 million in merchandise from Tiffany, which had worldwide net sales of more than $290 million.
The sale to Mitsukoshi comes as takeover rumors about Tiffany jewellery 1837 have circulated on Wall Street. In late August, the company said it had not received any takeover offers and was not seeking any.

Tiffany executives said that after five years, Mitsukoshi was free to make additional purchases. Experts in Japanese finance said it had become common for Japanese companies to make a small investment in a company that they might be interested in buying eventually.
Mitsukoshi captured headlines last year when it purchased Picasso's ''Acrobat and Young Harlequin'' for $38.45 million, which was then a record auction price for a 20th-century artwork and the third-highest price paid for a painting.

  • With the development of science and technology , there is only little difference between the replica and real tiffany jewellery . How do we distinguish the difference between the fake and the real tiffany jewellery?  The key what we are always looking for.  This simple guide will save you time and money in the long run. The below step will teach you how to realize the real tiffany jewelry . .

    1. First browse the photo. The picture maybe very clear and same as the tiffany authorities website . of course they were stolen from the Tiffany & Co. website.  You really do not know what you are buying.  Now You able to judge in determining how minor or small the picture are.

    2.  View sellers feedbacks and comment.  Beware of sellers with private feedback.  They may be hiding comments made regarding fake items they sold.  Also, beware of new sellers (less than 1 week) who have lots of Tiffany jewelry for sale at cheap prices.  These sellers may have had a previous eBay account suspended for selling fake items and have opened another account.
    3.  Read the entire description.  Some write thier item is "Auth." It does not mean Authentic.  This means absolutely no meanings.  If the auction specifically states that the item is Authentic Tiffany jewelry it may not be the real .

    4.  compare at the price.  Although the auction may have started out at 99 cents, this does not necessarily mean the item is replica.  Because some of the seller want to sell the old style tiffany jewelry , so they decrease the price at this time and have a promotion sale . But the price is only have $2USD-30$usd , it maybe not possible and you can determined them are replica tiffany jewellery .

    5.  Buyer are not a guarentee of authenticity.  It is very easy to make a fake receipt.  There are computer programs and fake receipt makers out there to help the crook along.  In addition, many sellers who provide the receipt with the purchase are only providing a copy of the reciept as to avoid identity theft.
    6.  look at the Return Policy!  The fake tiffany jewellery shop which the return policy always are very strict for the buyers , so please read carefull before you buy the item from them .If you do not agree with the return policy do not place an order on them .

    7.  Compare the item on the Tiffany & Co. website.  The Tiffany & Co. website only show in-stock items, it is a valuable resource.  They have sued eBay several times for allowing  unauthorities tiffany jewelry store sold on thier site. Tiffany & Co. will not authenticate items bought on eBay.

    8.  Ask the owner questions.  Honestly tiffany jewelry sellers do not mind answering questions regarding the tiffany jewelry.  Sincerely sellers are not afraid to answer questions to give additionsl photos if requested. Sellers should be prompt to answer e-mails, no longer than 48 hours.  If you have asked the seller if the item is authentic and you do not get a response from the seller, the item is probably fake and replica tiffany jewelry.

    9.  Tiffany & Co. does not have on sales!  eBay is one of the few places to buy authentic items at a discounted price. So please remember the above tips , so you can buy your real tiffany jewellery .

  • The year was 1837. Designer Charles Lewis Tiffany and his schoolmate John Young traveled from New England to New York City with an idea and a dream that were to become Tiffany & Co. While the first day of business brought in a mere four dollars and ninety- eight cents, the world of jewelry and luxury goods would never again be the same

Charles Tiffany's tireless search for one-of-a-kind objects charmed and fascinated the wealthy of New York. But when the store obtained some of the French crown jewels in 1848, Tiffany's fame spread far and wide.

Charles Tiffany went on to introduce the nation's first retail catalogue. And, his obsession with the simple elegance of classic silver design earned Tiffany & Co. the highly coveted Award of Merit at the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1867. This was the first time an American company had been recognized by a European jury.

Of the many individual achievements made under the leadership of Charles Lewis tiffany jewellery, the introduction of the celebrated engagement ring in the 6-prong Tiffany?Setting is one of the most noteworthy. But, of course, Charles Tiffany's grandest accomplishment was to establish America's preeminent house of design and the world's premier jeweler.

Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933), the celebrated jewelry and glass designer, was born the son of Charles Lewis Tiffany, founder of Tiffany & Co. His remarkable career designing jewelry, windows and decorative glass spanned 57 years including his tenure with L.C. Tiffany & Associated Artists, the Tiffany Glass Company, Tiffany Studios, Tiffany Furnaces, and L.C. Tiffany Furnaces. In 1902 he became Tiffany & Co.'s first Design Director, creating fantastic jewelry designs inspired both by nature and the art of other cultures. His patent for opalescent window glass in 1881 and his commissions for Mark Twain, Cornelius Vanderbilt and many others earned him an international reputation. His work has been honored by museums and treasured by collectors around the world.
